Zeppelin Air

Followed the instal instrucitons to the letter. However, once I get to the part where I go through iTunes, there is no "Look for remote spekaers connected with airplay" option under Preferences--Devices, as the directions state. Thoughts?

Hi

I had / have the same problem.

After trying 2 different Zep's, 2 different wifi routers, spend 3 days on firmware update and factory reset's I gave up and getting the thing on the wifi net. One of the reasons why you can see it in Itunes icould also be that is is not connected to the wifi at all. Do you see a steady purple light after the setup process ?. I never got to see it.

I will return the Zep to the dealer Monday. B&W just have'nt done their homework good enough designing the wifi part of the zep. Super sound but terrible setup.

If some one have the answer how to get this b.... thing connected to the wifi I would be more than greatfull..

Hi there,

I too have problems with my zeppelin air. in my case it works but only sometimes. I mean it desapear from the itunes speakers menu or even from the iphone airplay menu, and then one day it reapears without any noticable logic. it's really anoying and it uses to stop working when I have friends at home, so I end up plugging my ipod to it.

any clue? any idea to solve the problem?

thanks in advance

PD: the airplay fails but when it works, what a sound for such a little speaker, waooooo...

I too bought the Zeppelin Air for its Airplay support, and after many hours and a trip back to the dealer, I still can't get it to connect to my wireless router (i.e., purple flashing light never goes solid), using any of the three methods in the manual (ethernet, wireless, iPad/iPhone). Neither my pasword nor my wifi address include any special characters, and I'm working with the latest firmware. E-mailed B&W support on Tuesday (3.5 days ago). They were promising a 3-day turnaround, but nothing yet. Also, their support website page for Zeppelin Air is now not loading. Googling the issue, it seems there are many users with the same problem, but there isn't even a response to say they're aware of the issue and are working on it, which would be enough to stop me returning the thing. Very frustrating.

Hi Dr Nardoc. I'm surprised to hear of your difficulties with connecting with someone at B&W. I've had to contact them a couple of times for separate issues and their turnaround time has always been no more than two days. And the quality of service has always been professional and courteous.

I must provide an update that in the early mornings as I listen to my Zeppelin Air over AirPlay while I preparing breakfast and bag lunches for my family AirPlay still cuts out on average 1-2 times every 10 minutes. Presumably there is little interference from neighboring wifi signals at that time in the morning, but it's still glitchy. When I have little patience for this unreliable play, I just dock my iPhone to play music.

Truly disappointing -- sort of a MobileMe-esque failure on Apple's part to release a technology that is clearly not up to their normally high standards -- but I still love the ZA listening experience!
