iPhone Error 3194

Okay so, i have been trying to update iOS 4.3.2 - 4.3.3 and everytime i try i get the error 3194


I have tried restoring it and updating it, shift and restore/update, still wont work.


It has never been jailbroken and was bought unlocked from apple.


I also tried editing the hosts so it doesnt verify with apples server. still no luck.


I have admittly an iphone 3gs which i dont use anymore and is jailbroken which i synced with itunes once. would this effect my problem?

Yes, if you used the same computer that can cause this error, however, removing any lines containing gs.apple.com from the hosts file, then rebooting, should fix it. Actually, those lines in the hosts file PREVENTS the phone from verifying with the Apple server, which is necessary to jailbreak the phone.


If you are sure you removed the lines from the correct Hosts file and you still have the problem your antivirus may be blocking access to gs.apple.com.
