How to fix trackpad for Macbook Pro(mid 2009)

My MacBook Pro's trackpad has been acting very strange for the last few month. The trackpad is not responding quickly, making it difficult to navigate around. It also tends to move by itself and/or open new or different windows causing chaos on my screen. I've made sure nothing is on the tracpad besides my finger, its not scratched or damaged in anyway, and I have tried getting a system update for it but it says I'm already up to date. I have no idea what to do, does anybody know how to approach this situation?

Check your trackpad settings. System Preferences>Trackpad. Try unchecking all the boxes except Scroll.

Most likely a logic board or graphics card issue. Take it in to an Apple store and have one of the technicians take a look at it for you.

Try removing the battery and powering your mbpro strictly off of the charger. If it works, then you might have a swollen battery obstructing the trackpad.

The battery is built-in.

I would consider the swollen battery, cuz I have one and even though is built in, the trackpad click adjustment is made on a screw under the battery which when pushed by the battery causes the trackpad to stop responding or not at all.
