Using Facetime on wifi only iPad2
Any options for still using the facetime app on a wifi only iPad2? I wonder if using Skype on some other similar app is the answer?
FaceTime only works on wifi.
It does not work on a cellular network.

I'm coming from in iPhone 4 where you use facetime with the phone app. So the facetime app on the iPad doesn't have the same requirement? I can still make a facetime call even though the iPad I've purchased doesn't have any phone capabilites?
FaceTime on iPad 2 uses your email address instead of a phone number.
Go to Settings>>FaceTime and turn it on. Validate your email by entering Apple id and password.

Thanks. My iPad arrives this week. Glad to know its that easy to use.
If you are lucky enough to have iPhone, you can activate the Personal Hotspot for iPad to get Wi-Fi connection and do FaceTime. This is while using 3G connection from iPhone.
