I just recently successfully used Compressor to convert several mp4 files into mov files using the h264 settings. Now all of a sudden every attempt with similar files fails or stalls out. The video icon never even changes to show the video.
I have reset the background processes and I have used the special little reset app someone posted a link to but to no avail I cxannot repeat the earlier success.
Any knowledge on this?
Have you repaired permissions?
I got it working fine in AdobeMediaEncoder... so freak'n frickyou Apple. Though if any one has help I'd still like to give learn what is wrong with Compressor.
yes numerous times... and I used the reset ap as well.
Oh wait no... I'm gonna try that if it works with out having to stop the conversion goign on with Media Encoder...
The disk utility is doing it's thing.... so we'll see. It'd be nice it I coiuld use compressor and encoder at the same time since I have over 800 hours ov conversion to do.
Some permissions were repaired but it didn't help. It seems to be an issue with file size. Not sure what the threshhold is yet.
Oh nope that's not it... the files i converted Thursday were larger than the ones that are failing now. Anyhow Encoder seems to be kicking but on this. It's going way faster than the other conversion went.

Anyone else have anything for me on this? It turns out things have not been so hunky dory with encoder either.
If you've got buttloads of H264 conversions to do, you may want to check out Matrox's H264 Max Accelerator card. I've never used it for MP4 conversions, but it rocks when I use it to convert FCP QT's to H264 for HD DVD's. Normally conversions are almost realtime, so if you've got a 2 hr QT, it'll convert it in about two hours.
