Iphone 4 receiver not working so cannot hear caller

Hi

My iphone receiver has stopped working after two weeks, If I switch to speaker phone I can hear, or if I use a headset. However for normal phone use I cannot hear the caller. Have been through the various trouble shooting steps including restoring the phones. Any ideas or is this a return for service issue.

iPhone 4, iOS 4.3.2, 4.3.3 installed

I've seen this issue myself.

Try this: When you adjust the volume (buttons on the left side of the phone) while you're on the home screen, does the volume indicator show "(headphones)" even when you don't have headphones connected?

If so, that's why your mic and receiver are not working except for speakerphone or headsets.

It also means your iPhone thinks there are headphones when there aren't.

Typically just taking a can of compressed air (computer duster thing) to the headphone jack and rebooting the iPhone will resolve the issue.

Just try to blow the headphone jack with pressurised air use a blower or ur mouth and then insert headphones back to the jack and use phone. Now take out the headphone jack blow some air in the jack and try to use without headphones. It worked for me. Finally u can go to settings > General > Reset All. It should work.

This solution worked for me. My phone is working fine now. Please try this:

"Plug the headphones back into it. Then turn on the ipod and play music. Then pause the music and unplug the headphones, and the receiver will work. If you accidentally pull out the headphones while the music is playing it somehow kills the receiver speaker untill you plug it back in pause the music and thern unplug them." -SlimNick (modmyifone.com)
