I am having problems with failed jobs in Compressor. When importing the files the video does not show up under the file name and the submissions fail.
These are large mp4 files around 3 gigs each. Is there something I can do to help compressor import these files?
You might try installing Perian.
Some people have reported problems with their systems after installing the latest version, so make sure they have a uninstall option avaialbe or, even better,make a bootable clone of your startup drive before installing so you can restore it if things go south after the install.
Some files just won't work in compressor. You might try opening and exporting in mpegstreamclip.
What is the source of these files? Compressor should have no problem transcoding standard MPEG-4 clips, thus, they are probably a proprietry version. Are they .mov or what?
I already had Perian and tried mpegstream too. I gave on on the files. Finally got the producer to supply the uncompressed footage. Meanwhile i founda handfull of clips which will convert to a syced file for me to work with while waiting for the uncompressed vids to arrive.

thanks Ben. Don't know what's up wit the files. Haven't actaully even talked to the originators of the content. There is a middle man gettign the uncompressed files to me now.
