Thanks but I would like to reject it and erase this number 1 next to the icon.

I do not want the update because it is asking me to update my English Kindle version into a German Kindle version because my address is in Switzerland.

The problem is I am a French speaker and not the whole of Swierland is German speaking....!!!

Any clue how to erase it?

Today, the AA Route Planner ( UK ) launched an update. However, one user has already installed it and has experienced severe problems with the running of the app. I use this app as part of my work and it is an essential tool in my calculations. This app requires a subscription which I am up to date for nearly a year. Apparently this update is deleting the subscription details and requiring new subscription.

My experience with AA is that they will not communicate if I were to install the update and incur issues. So I will not update until I know for sure it is safe to do so. My question is Chris, did you get anywhere with your query? Did you learn of a way to be able to remove an update so that the update all button can be used?

Thank you.

Hi Nodecks,

Unfortunately, there is no way to remove the update you do not want.

However it seems it remains valid only a certain amount of time because after about two months it disappeared.

It also seems that when a new update comes up for the same app, it replaces the previous one. If the new new one is OK then you can make the update and it solves the issue. Otherwise, the only thing you can do is wait until it is removed automatically.

Cheers,

Chris

You would be wise to back up the version you already have from iTunes and keep a copy somewhere so you could manually reinstall later if needed.

If it's in itunes and not the updated version just make a copy of the app to another location from the finder/explorer window.

I tend to keep older app versions as sometimes if you have a device not compatible with the latest iOS update as if an updated app loses compatibility with your existing iOS version you'd have no way to install the old app on an older iOS without getting new hardware!
