I am trying to make a movie of a music gala at my church. The video looks fine in the Project window, but the heads are often cut off in the Playback window. Also, when I exported it to iDVD and made a copy, the heads are cut of there as well. I've tried different property settings to no avail. It was importing as a 4:3 aspect ratio. Please help!

If your video is 4:3, you should be using a 4:3 project.
You can correct the cropping in the cropping window. Select the clip in the project window and click on the cropping tool in the centre bar, if you don't have one turn on advanced tools in your preferences. You have various crop options available to you in the crop window, 'Fit' will stop your video being cropped top and bottom but will add black bars at the sides.
