IPhone 3GS won't update to 4.3.3, error 3194

I recently tried to update to 4.3.3 but I keep getting the error 3194 ( I believe) and don't understand why. And yes I have the newest iTunes softwere.

iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.3.2

This error is often due to Apple being blocked from signing and verifying your firmware through iTunes. Check on your computer by searching for "Hosts". If your Hosts file contains any lines with gs.apple.com, they have to be removed, the entire line with the numbers too. If you do not have gs.apple.com then this is not the problem. A stock Hosts file will not have gs.apple.com

Apple or iTunes does not modify the Hosts file. It can be modified by you or a program your have authorized to modify it. Anyway gs.apple.com is not a normal component of a stock computer Hosts file. iTunes already knows where Apple is, the gs.apple.com lines just make it search for Apple at another site, obviously not Apple, thus Apple cannot sign and verify your iPhone firmware and iTunes gives a 3194 error.

Thanks Brad - that showed me how to fix it!

Moriahwa, if you're running PeerBlock or another p2p blocklist program, try disabling it. Also, you may want to try shutting off firewall software like ZoneAlarm for a moment if you have it. I found PeerBlock either considers Apple spyware, or p2p, so it was blocking my connection to them, making it fail with a 3194 error.
