Why does the time and date keep resetting itself and weird messages appear on my screen

Why does the date and time keep resetting itself and messages appear telling me it may interfere with my files. This is a new problem adding to my list.

How do I go about having these problems resolved

You don't say which MBP you have, but my guess is that your backup battery has died. If you have a backup battery, it is a tiny battery located on the logic board that keeps the time and date. If this battery is dead, then your Mac has to rely on the main battery to keep the date and time. If your main battery is bad, then every time you disconnect your Mac from the power adaptor, it will lose the time and date.

So you likely need to replace a battery.

Here's a link on resetting the PRAM and VRAM that might shed some light.
