iPad2 3G Verizon (Billing address invalid...)

Friends...

I have a new iPad2 3G (Verizon) and each time I enter my charge card, it bounces back with "Invalid billing address...". Thus I cannot activate 3G. Anyway, I used my corporate card (which I don't want to use...) with a different address and it worked perfectly.

Can someone give me the short version explanation on how to fix this? Do I basically put in all my personal card info and use a bogus address (maybe even my work address)?

What's the deal? Frustrating! Verizon support knows nothing. And Apple seems to be directing me to them...

Thanks in advance...

Thanks, I have been reading up on the various threads. It appears that the billing address that is associated with your charge card is being cross-checked against a service availability list. Meaing that if your charge card is associated with an address that is deemed outside the 3G service footprint, the card does not go through resulting in a "billing address invalid..." message. It seem as though this check is taking place before the card validation check.

So I was wondering if I were to put in my card info, but use a bogus address in a confirmed 3G location, would it work. I'm trying to do that now, but the online activation site appears to be down or being serviced.

Thanks!

I got it to work...somehow...

If it's a benefit to anyone. I had to try every possible combination of my billing address until it took. I looked at my charge card statement and copied it exactly; still didn't work. Here is what worked for me:

On the statement:

John Doe

46-123 King Street

Honolulu, HI 96813

What work:

John Doe

46123 King Street

Honolulu, HI 96813

Sheesh! That was lame having to go through that.

Good luck!
