Connecting a second iPod to my computer

My friend bought a 30GB iPod (color/video) for her brother who is in Cuba. We've been downloading tons of music into my iTunes and plan to download it into this new iPod so she can bring it to him. My questions are as follow:

1. Is there anything I need to do before I connect this new iPod to my iBook and do an update?
2. Will my iTunes library freakout if it sees a new iPod connected?
3. Will I be able to name this iPod anything I want and not create a conflict when I plug my own iPod later?
4. Would I be better off creating a new user in my PB, then connect/update the new iPod?

Additional information.
1. I also own the same type iPod.
2. This new iPod (most likely, 99.9% sure) will never be connected to another computer while in Cuba.

Thanks for the replies!

I have a similar request for help:

I have two 60GB iPods (one 5G and one 4G) and my girlfriend has one 5G iPod - what are our options for setting these up on one G4 DP PwerMac? Do we just setup a playlist for each and the respective iPod will keep track of which is which (that's what an Apple Support tech briefly told me)? I would like to avoid multiple profiles/accounts if possible.

Thank you!

1. Is there anything I need to do before I connect this new iPod to my iBook and do an update?
No. Simply plug it in.

2. Will my iTunes library freakout if it sees a new iPod connected?
No. It will ask if you want to link the iTunes Library to this new iPod. Just say Yes.

3. Will I be able to name this iPod anything I want and not create a conflict when I plug my own iPod later?[/b
Yes, no problem.
4. Would I be better off creating a new user in my PB, then connect/update the new iPod?
Not if you are only gonna connect the iPod one or two times.
