SMS syncing w/ Exchange ActiveSync

Why doesn't the iPhone iOS archive or log SMS messaging? Blackberry Enterprise Server does this and several industries have regulations that require all client communication be documented for regulatory and possible future litagation purposes. Our business is moving more and more each day away from clients contacts via the traditional phone call to SMS messaging. I need these messages archived for several reasons as just "trusting" someone to later type them into contact logs is not good enough. Is this coming any time soon?

SMS Sync

SMS Sync is a new feature in Exchange ActiveSync that works with Windows Mobile 6.1 with the Outlook Mobile Update and with Windows Mobile 6.5. SMS Sync is the ability to synchronize messages between a mobile phone or device and an Exchange 2010 Inbox. When synchronizing a Windows Mobile phone with an Exchange 2010 mailbox, users can choose to synchronize their text messages in addition to their Inbox, Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, and Notes. When synchronizing text messages, users will be able to send and receive text messages from their Inbox. This feature is dependent on the user's mobile phones or devices supporting this feature.

This is the ONLY feature stopping me migrating to iphone from my windows mobile 6.5

It is a MUST have for me.

1) If you forget your phone at home you can check you email at work and get your SMS messages

2) I have no GSM coverage at office. I can leave my phone at and upper level desk and still get my messages via woek email and take calls bia bluetooth.

3) Can send SMS from desktop outlook client with full keyboard and they are send by mobile phone.

Looking forward to this feature...
