How do you fill an entire column with the same type? (Like a date)
Is there a way to fill an entire column with the same info without having to copy and paste it in over and over?

Yes. Sadly, it depends upon the type of data within the cells.
For MOST cells, you can type the date once. When you're done, you'll notice a small white ball in the lower right corner of the cell. Just click ON THE BALL and drag it down (or up) to fill in the column. You can also drag it left or right to fill in a row.
You can also drag to select more than one adjacent cell (not the ball, but the cells themselves) and THEN click on the ball. This will copy the adjacent cells onward, so you can copy an entire column across a series of rows or copy an entire row up or down a series of columns. But be aware that if the values in the cells increment/decrement within the cells you've copied, Numbers assumes you want to carry that onward. I.E., if you have two horizontally adjacent cells selected with the values of 1 and 2, when you drag them to the right, Numbers will make the next cells 3, 4, and 5.)
The exception (the only one I'm aware of) is with date/time values. If you drag the ball on a single date/time cell, Numbers assumes you want to increment/decrement the value as you go along. (Why? I have no idea.) To get around this, you will need to drag adjacent date/time cells that are identical in value.
Thanks vjdjr!
This was exactly what we needed:

Yes, Thomas, there is. Type your data in the first cell and hit enter. Click once on that cell to select it and Command-C. Leaving that cell selected, Shift-Click on the last cell in the range and then Command-V. You will then have the same data in every cell of the range.

Excellent solution!
Thanks Jerry. : )
That's the easiest and most direct way. Don't be afraid to experiment 😉
