No idea, but if the Mac is new and covered by Applecare, the best thing to do would be to contact Apple about it. Assuming there has never been a spill or anything like that, any repair should be covered under warranty.

Open Preferences > Language & Text > Input Sources

Check the Keyboard and Character Viewer. See which keyboard is checked. Is it American layout? Or do you need an other layout? Check the little Radio button bottom right "Show input menu in menu bar", A flag will be now on the ,menu top right. From there choose the keyboard viewer and play around with the shift key the option key or both. You will see which key to push for the / - character with your specific language settings.

The most common cause of one key not working is that it has been set as the trigger for Text to Speech or Speech Recognition. Check your settings for system preferences/speech.

Ditto! My keyboard is doing the same thing. New out of the box.

Same deal--contact Apple about it. It's likely a hardware issue--possibly a defective keyboard or something along those lines. If new enough, you might even get a replacement machine.
