iMac 2011 Proprietary HDD's

I have been looking at purchasing a new 2011 iMac but recent news has been talking about proprietary HDD Sata interfaces. Is this a real thing? It's important from a purchasing standpoint because i just purchased an OCZ Vertex 3 SSD hard drive (a $500 drive) to be used in the Mac that I get. I've used it in a new Macbook 2011 with no issues so I'm hoping this isn't true.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

In short if you want an internal SSD or larger HD you need to purchase the ones Apple provides when ordering.
