Why can't I edit messages if there's replies?

To wit: I posted a message in the iTunes forum asking if PodWorks was dead. I couldn't find the edit button, so I replied to my own message with more info on the question I was asking. Now I can't edit EITHER of the messages I posted! What's up with that?

You have 15 minutes to edit a message after it's initially posted.

If you miss that window, then do what you've already done and reply to your own message to add more information or context.

    Good luck!

Just to add a bit to Tuttle's info -

The edit function for the original post in a discussion (thread) will be shown in the Actions box in the upper right sidebar.

The edit function for each reply posted to the discussion will be shown in the bottom right of the reply's message bubble:

In either case, as Tuttle stated, the window for editing is 15 minutes.
