Excel into Numbers (iPad)

I just bought Numbers to use some Excel spreadsheets.

But then when I imported, the sheet was essentially unusable.

Would not support:

Sheet settings, such as headers and footers (removed)

font Calibri missing

Merged table cells were unmerged (what the heck? can't even do that?)

HIdden rows and columns were made visible (not a huge deal, if I can hide them)

Teh missing font Arial was replaced by ArialMT (maybe not a big deal).

How the heck can I even use this? no merged table cells?

Help! any tips in importing?

I have noticed the same issues with QuickOffice. I did find that when you e-mail the file that you edited on the iPad to another computer, it retains the original formatting. Hence, while annoying as you edit on te iPad, you can work with your files and confidently forward them. I would assume this would work in Numbers as well, but I have not yet tried.
