Macbook Pro 2011 Wi-Fi Problem HELP PLEASE! :/

Hi,

Why does my Wi-Fi signal stay on, however when I try to open a webpage, say www.apple.com, it stays loading and never comes up. When I turn my Airport on and off again, it comes back to normal and the web page loads? This is very frustrating for me, especially when I'm new to Mac and I've been longing for one for ages! On the other hand, my other laptop (Acer 5732Z) works fine and connects to the internet and I'm not faced with such a problem (running Windows 7)

My home router is a TP-Link model No. WR740-N.

I'm running the latest version of Mac OS X and I've tried installing all the recent updates from the software updates

When I'm using the Macbook with Ethernet cable connected (not my intended use), the internet connection is also abit unsteady, however it is not that much as when I'm connected via my Wi-Fi Network.

I would appreciate anyone's help! I've tried setting my router according to apple's instructions, but still the problem persists!!

Thanks!

jbeck

I had exactly the same problem with my new MBP. Tried all the solutions I could find and none seemed to work.. Then I tried changing the channel on my router, switching from Auto to manual. Channel 1 had the same issue but channel 6 seems to work fine. Not had any connection problems since. It may be worth trying this if you haven't tried it already.

Interesting though...my Windows desktop PC had no problems, so the problem must be on the mac end.

I have the same problem with my early 2011 MacBook Pro. I am a dedicated Apple user, have had many MacBook Pro's, Mac Pro's, iMac's (and of course iphone's, ipod's, ipad's). I am very frustrated with this issue as I cannot keep a wireless connection going on this one MacBook Pro (early 2011). There is obviously a problem as so many others are having the same issue. Apple needs to fix this issue whether by replacing these airport cards or fixing the software. I use my MacBook Pro for work every day...er well, I did until I got this one. I now have to use the Lenovo sitting right beside it due to this MacBook Pro can't stay connected to the internet.

FIX THIS APPLE!! I believe you are a great company with THE BEST products, so please come through and fix this an keep me a believer!!

Ditto here. Wifi signal strength is excellent one minute (wifi router is 6 feet away); all other devices working on signal fine; only the new MBP periodically disconnects airport and does not automatically re-connect or it hangs loading a web page and just clicking on the airport icon in the menubar, letting it "search," (even though the signal says everything is fine), unhangs the webpage loads. Its driving me crazy!

The MBP does not behave this way at Starbucks or on other wierelss set-ups, but I have removed all potential wireless interference sources.

The same problem, me 2!! More and more difficult to solve: this morning, for the first time, it blocked my macbook pro, twice!

I've being trying to switched on/off the airport for hours, but it was dead! Few minutes later my mac stopped to work, at all!!! At the end I was unable to do anything.

I just changed the wifi connection (I came back home) and then, everything has restarted (as if nothing had happened)..

My wifi signal strength always shows full strength, and I usually do not drop the connection. However, everytime I open safari it loads up about half way, then stops. Occasionally it works for about 10 seconds, but then I am stuck loading again. I have the new mac book pro 2011 with LION. I have been reading around for a solution and right now there doesn't seem to be one. This is my first mac, and so far I am pretty annoyed. If a solution is not found soon, I might return to the good old windows PC.

P.S. Just writing this post took me numerous tries and about an hour of time.

My MacBook Pro, which I just got in July of 2011, will not connect to the internet. I get free wireless in my apartment complex, and I've been using it ever since I moved in a few days after I got my laptop. I haven't had problems connecting to it before.

Just the other night, I was watching a movie on Netflix and it was perfect. Then I tried watching a tv show and it stopped working from then on. I highly doubt it's a router issue because no one else in my apartment seems to have any problems. There has been a heavy rainstorm here recently, but I'm almost certain that would have no effect.

When I try to open Safari, I will be connected to the WiFi according to the AirPort status in the menu bar, but the pages will not load completely. I'll get less than a fifth loaded according to the blue in the address bar (I don't know the technical terminology) and then I'll check the Network Settings and try to connect and refresh the page, and then it will say that I'm no longer connected to the internet.

I've tried deleting my locations, networks, and looked into deleting the plists (a suggestion I found in a thread somewhere) but I'm afraid I'd ruin something. I've done the obvious restarting my computer, but of course to no avail. I tried turning the AirPort on and off - nothing. I've found posts on other sites about "zapping the PRAM" by holding down the Command (⌘), Option, P, and R keys simultaneously when starting the computer - like a reboot - but I'm afraid I'd lose something important (??).

I'm curious if I messed up something when I tried connecting to the wireless at my university, which I was unable to do. I don't know if this issue is my fault or is it an Apple thing (software, hardware)? It's clear everyone else is having major problems with this as well.

Honestly, I don't know what to do. I feel like I wasted money switching to Mac from PC. I know how to fix all my PC problems, but Mac is beyond me. Any help? Please!? I need my Mac working ASAP for school and work!

Same thing here. I just bought my new 13" mbpro Early 2011 and it consistantly looses wifi connection mostly after sleeping. It can see my router but won't connect unless I reset the router. My old school eMac and Acer Netbook work great and are always connected, so that's why I know it's a problem with the new mbpro:( Guess I'll return it or see if there's an update that will help patch it.
