Tiscali email

I can set my new iphone 4 up to retrieve emails from my tiscali server. However, I cannot send emails from the phone, and get the message "cannot send mail, rejected by the server".

My primary smtp server is set as smtp.o2.co.uk. SSL is off. No user name or password entered. Server port is 25.

Has anyone ever managed to set up Tiscali on the iphone and if so what are the settings. Any help would be gratefully received. It needs to be kept basic as I have only basic knowledge of iphones, emails and servers.

Have you called Tiscali?

You might try this: smtp.tiscali.co.uk

I used good old fashioned trial and error and sorted it!!!!!!!!!!

Tiscali settings iPad

Add account

Other (provider)

Type

Name: Your own name choice

Email: your tiscali user name@talktalk.co.uk

Description: talktalk.co.uk

Then click next and choose imap option NOT POP3!!

Then change settings to tiscali.

Incoming mail server

Host name; iMap.tiscali.co.uk

Username;your user name@tiscali.co.uk

Password; your own password

Outgoing mail server

Smtp. Smtp.tiscali.co.uk

Username; leave blank

Password; leave blank

Primary server

Host name; smtp.tiscali.co.uk

Username;

Password;

Use Ssl ; off

Authentication; blank

Server port: 25

Since contacting you I have now gt the ipad3 to RECEVE mail coming in, but cannot SEND mail

is call help line have been less than helpful and want to refer. To apple which seems ridiculous

You kindly offered to send your step by step guide
