stop autofill in numbers

Hi,

I am just starting to use numbers. I used excel previously. I like a lot of things that numbers does, but the autofill is driving me crazy.

I am a researcher and I need to type in data. The top line of my sheet is the condition (ex. 6-3 or 3-6). When I go to enter the data (whether a 3 or a 6 was picked) it autofills to either 6-3 or 3-6. The autofill content is longer than the content I want to type in, so I end up having to delete the extra digits from each cell by hand.

Is there anyway to either turn off autofill or tell it not to autofill certain cells?

Thanks.

PD,

It's a General Preference in Numbers.

It's either on or off, no part way that I am aware of.
