If an error message is telling you to reinstall iTunes, perhaps try the complete uninstall/reinstall method described document, jenna:

Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

If you still get the error message after that, post back to let us know the precise text of the error message. (There's a few different ones that mention reinstalling iTunes.)

I may be in the wrong place and I apologize if I am and would like you to redirect me if you could. I have been having problems with Itunes recently first it is telling me that: "The registry settings used by the i Tunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."

Since reciveing this message I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and fixed the registry settings as another forum post suggested. However when I did that my computer could no longer recognize my DVD drive, and once I had it able to the same message returned. I have uninstalled all other burning programs on my computer and am at a slight loss as to what could have caused this. However I didnt think much of it as the program would still import.

However I am now trying to import Audible audio books, only to have iTunes tell me the following when it tries to authorize my computer: "Could not authorize this computer because iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes." Followed by this error: "Could not authorize this computer because an error occurred (1007)." Now bear in mind this is happening roughly an hour after I reinstalled iTunes after getting the same message. Any help would be super appreciated, Sorry for the long message but I have seen how you want a good description and the exact wording.
