If you are using Safari, Shift-Command-K.
Or uncheck it under the Safari menu.
If you're using some other browser, post what you're using and someone can provide instructions for that, assuming you can't find it in the browser's Help.
Regards.
Ho do you turn it on? Is it under File, Edit or someplace else? I keep getting only one pop up "RateMonitor.com" or some such and sure would like to nuke that advertiser.
Thanks

The opposite way to turning it off.
It still is not stopping Ratemonitor.com" ðŸ˜
Some popups are coded in a way that browser popup blockers just cannot stop, often with JavaScript. I'm guessing that this Ratemonitor popup is one of them.

I have a persistant popup from some rate monitor site, too. This one would not let me quit Safari or close the window of the popup and looked like an official Mac warning small window. Just using Safari blocker checked on. Should I install Glimmer? Does another blocker require turniing off the Safari blocker?
Looking for advice......Thanks
First try "RESET" in the SAFARI menu, and click everything on, reset, quit Safari and restart Safari, make sure "blok popup windows" is checked in the safari menu.
and when that does not work:
use Glimmerblocker (not glims) which will not show in the Safari Prefeneces but in the System Preferences.
I am not sure that it will block RateMonitor, but at least it blocks most of the MacKeeper ads, which is a relief already.
I would hate to loose my saved web pages and passwords. Could I be selective on what I reset rather than reset everything?? Thanks
uncheck passwords. what do you mean with "saved webpages"?
