getting security notice on gmail. Click remove all viruses. wouldn't remove

received virus notice on gmail. box told me to remove all. would not respond to click.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

In what form did you receive this notice? What were you doing when it happened? What wouldn't respond to clicking? Details needed.
