Invalid Address with App Store?

For the past few days, I've tried to use the app store to update and purchase apps, but I cannot. Every time I try, a message pops up saying "invalid address". I have tried every "fix" and workaround posted on the Internet to no avail.

My billing address is a p.o. box, I have it entered just as my bank records have it, which is also exactly how it is listed on the USPS.com site. I've also tried many variations, such as "PO BOX", "po box", "P.O. Box", etc. I still cannot use the app store at all.

This is extremely frustrating, and an absolutely absurd measure of security. I understand wanting to keep your customers safe by incorporating strict security measures, but this is clearly a wide scale problem as so many people are posting problems about this. A security measure that renders the app store inoperable for so many people is something that clearly should be removed. Blocking customers from being able to make purchases is not a good business move.

I'm sorry for being so dramatic, but I'm just really pulling my hair out over this. If it was one day, then I wouldn't be such a big deal, but when I start missing app sales and I am blocked from making in-app purchases because of something that is clearly not my fault, I feel my frustration becomes justified.

And just for clarification, I use a credit card for my accont, so no, putting in Apple's address or any other will not work. I have to match my bank's records.

I just received this helpful email from the iTunes Email Support... It fixed my problem. Hope it can help you all too.

--------- FROM ITUNES EMAIL SUPPORT------------------------------

Dear Customer,

I understand you are receiving an error that says your address is invalid.

To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:

1. Go to http://zip4.usps.com

2. Enter your address into the form without the zip code. Important: Do not include the zip code.

3. Click the Submit button.

4. Under the Full Address in Standard Format section, your address will probably appear in a slightly different format than how you entered it.

From here, you can go back to your iTunes Store account page and enter your address exactly how it appears on the USPS site and attempt your purchase again.

Please let me know if you continue to experience this issue so I can investigate the matter further.

Sincerely,

iTunes Store Customer Support

Call Apple iPhone support and ask for the issue to be esscalated. They will then tell you that you only get "email" support for the iTunes store. But, that "email" support is utterly worthless. Some Apple customers have been dealing with this for weeks, with no solution. I would just keep calling them. Apple made the decision to provide this "level" of iTunes store support. None of us realized what we were buying. We thought Apple was the company with all of the local stores. A better then Dell experience. We all have been had.

Hey, today i was facing the same problem i tried to follow the steps it says, just put up your password when it says (invalid address sign in to continue) and then you will find that any of the raw of add is blank just be sure you fill all the blanks even if your add is short try to make it large so that all the blanks are filled. Thats it you are done, now try to install hope you will not get the problem. Dude if it dosent work then sorry, but it worked in my case.

I am experiencing the same problem with my iPhone 4... It's the identical problem to yours- I went to update apps and it posted that, not allowing me to bypass it. I've been having conflicts with the App Store though, claiming that my security code (credit card) wasn't correct-- when it was. It solved itself but now it displays this message. Just wanted to let you know you aren't the only Apple customer with this problem. Be sure to reply/post if you find a fix.

By the way, I do fully agree with you're frustration. I find these glitches (security) are becoming numerous and aggravating.

Neha,

You're entering a wrong password for your iCloud account.

1. I would recommend you to visit iCloud — Sign in and sign in with your iCloud email and password. If you're not able to, please click on Recover Your Apple ID - Apple and reset your password.

2. Once your login to iCloud is sorted, go back to your iPhone, try downloading a new app from the AppStore. Once you get the INVALID ADDRESS popup, enter the same password which you changed to on STEP 1, and click CONTINUE. It'll take you to the page where you need to enter your Card details and Billing Address, there you need to enter the address without SYMBOLS !!! Space between words would be fine. Once done, save that information.

This will be resolved then.

I already posted the solution above..

"Guys, I found the solution. You just need to remove comma from the address! It needs to be plain simple address with LETTERS & SPACES in between. NO SYMBOL!! I did that and it resolved for me, the very same address.

Let me know if it's solved yours! Cheers!!"

Example -

#2 123 Mains 12 Cross MG Road Delhi 000000

Keep it simple !!
