I got my PB 2-3 weeks ago.  I'm haven't been doing much but surfing the web with it the whole time.  A few days ago I had my old drive downloaded on my new PB.  Since then or thereabouts, my PB has been running hot and by that I mean the fan is always on and the bottom of the laptop warm or hot.  Why is this?

Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities, choose Show All Processes, sort on CPU%, is anything using lots of CPU% there?

    Hi there,

I see you have a G4 Powerbook and its heating up. I have a program that I use called G4FanControl.. If you are interested, I can send you a link and you can download it. It will monitor your temperatures and also ensure that your PB won't overheat.

Let me know if you want it.
