Try holding down the power and the home screen button for 10 seconds, it always works for me.

Mine is an ipod nano touch and mine isnt responding to anything. It wont conenct to itunes or turn off. Nothing works 😢

hold middle and menu button that will turn it off then it will turn back on again and it will work🙂
