No, there is not, just as you cannot track your computer or tv or car stereo, or cell phone, or most any other product by its serial number.

Sorry.

Report it to the police and change your password.

What technology? There is no GPS on the ipod.

You saw how much trouble Apple and Google got into for tracking phones. Imagine how fast they would be in front of congress or the court system if they began tracking all products by their serial number.

This would be a huge violation of privacy laws.

Sorry about your ipod, but this is not something that can or should be done by anyone unless prompted by a legal warrant from law enforcement.

"yeah but there is still a way that you may track a phone"

Yes. GPS and Cell tower triangulation. They also appeared in front of congress to answer for doing this. And they will NOT track a lost iphone either.

" i dont see why they cannot use the same thing to find an ipod "

They will not track a lost iphone either, for the same reason.

"hey could use the wifi to track the serial number"

No they cannot for the reason provided. Privacy law violations among other things.

You could have used the find my ipod app to do this. Apple cannot, just as no other manufacturer of devices will do it.

Sorry.
