apps you can play on a airplane

I am going on an 11 hour flight and want to know if what kind of apps I can play while in airplane mode. Also, can i read books while i am in airplane mode?

iPad 2, iOS 4.3.2, 3G + wifi

Any app that does not require an internet connection can be played. Books can be read in airplane mode as well, provided they've been downloaded prior to putting the device in airplane mode.

In addition to gdgmacguy's answer you can also watch movies, TV Shows, Videos and Podcasts that have already been downloaded to your iPad.

"Any app that does not require an internet connection can be played."

That is the key to what you can do!
