Turning off the wireless router will disconnect everyone. If you do not have security on your router, set it up first thing when you turn it back on.
You should most certainly secure your network with an encrypted password as soon as possible at the highest security level you can. Not to do so will leave you open to all kinds of potential problems. A search of Apple's website or the internet in general will provide you with plenty of advice. Another layer of protection is to restrict access to your wireless network by MAC filtering. This will only allow devices whose individual MAC address has been added to your router list will be allowed access, whether or not they have the password. Your router manufacturer's support pages should help you with this.
It is possible of course that you have security in place but the encryption has been hacked. If this is the case you may need to seek specialist advice, though just changing the access code regularly would probably see off all but the most dedicated hacker.
What I did was remove the wireless router and install my old DSL router..... whoever "entered" the wireless router had enough knowledge to set a name and password for the wireless router at the Linsys site.... as you know that is easy to do... ( at least the piggy backer did NOT lock me out of the site!) I reset a password for the wireless... but still had a problem as another "user" showed up! so the DSL router was a easy fix as the wireless is NOT really needed at home...... plan to get a newer wireless and get the security install right away.
Thanks... Joe
