10.5.8 airport dropping out freezing

Hello. I have a 2006 MacBook Pro, 10.5.8 system and am using a Linksys wireless system for internet access.

Despite constantly having full "fan" signal strength, every hour, the signal "freezes" and I cannot access the internet. To correct this, I have to select "Turn Airport off" and then select "Turn airport on" straight away and the it clears itself.

Any suggestions? Should I reset the PRAM. I found an Apple Support wireless update for 10.5.8, but after clicking on it, I received a "page not found" error warning.

Thanks!

Open a Finder window. Select MacintoshHD in the Sidebar on the left then open the Library folder then the Preferences folder then the System Configuration folder.

Move all the files in the System Configuration folder to the Trash.

Restart your MBPro.

If that doesn't help, try the AirPort Troubleshooting Guide

I don't think resetting the PRAM will help. No mention of Wi Fi or AirPort in the PRAM...
