Are you using the speakers on your macbook pro or external speakers?
This may sound like a stupid question, but did you try changing the volume using any of the three buttons on the top of the keyboard?
I already tried that and it didn't work.
I'm having the same issue! Still no answers? For the past few days I have been unable to unmute my MacBook Air. The sound icon is greyed out in the top toolbar, and when I click it, I cannot move the volume up or down at all. When I go into System Preferences, and click "Sound", there are "no output devices found", and I cannot unmute the output. I have tried restarting my computer, and I tried holding Command + Option + R + P during a restart. Nothing has worked. This started happening after I installed updates on the computer. Please, any ideas or solutions are very welcome! Thanks.
