I downloaded skype on my new iphone4 but an icon did not appear on my home page.

How many Apps do you have on your iPhone?

If you have filled 11 screens of Apps, Apps will be instaled, but, not shown. In that situation, You should use folders, or, search the App you want with Spotlight (If you want to use Spotlight, just go to the screen that is at the left of the home screen).

I bought a new iPhone4 last week specifically for Skype and I have exactly the same problem as you experienced. The Nike app you mentioned was downloaded with the Skype in my case. Perhaps this has something to do with the problem. I emailed the techies at both Apple and Skype on Friday but still no reply. Seriously thinking about returning the phone to the shop I bought it from.

Are you swiping to see the other pages to the right of the main page of apps?

I have the same problem as Laura...the phone is new just a few apps installed.

I downloaded the skype app from itunes and installed it,but can't find the icon to access the application.

I use spotlight i'm swiping to the other pages but the icon is just not there...

itunes says that skype is already installed when i try to download the app again.

Somebody knows what i should do to find the icon? or how to delete whats installed and reinstall it from itunes?

It's my first iphone and i know just the basics.

Perhaps resetting the home screen layout might fix it.

Go to Settings > General > Reset > Rest Home Screen Layout.

You will have to reorganise your home screens after doing so.
