May 16, 2011 4:31 AM in response to flybyglassby John Maisey,Hi,
Is this on your phone, or in iCal on your computer? I'd back up my calendars before doing the following in iCal:
- Search for all events in iCal by putting a quote (i.e. " ) in the search box (top right in iCal's main window).
- You will then get a list of all events in your visible calendars.
- Sort this list by start date and scroll down to the first date you are interested in.
- Click the event, so it is highlighted.
- Scroll down to the last event you want removed and Shift-Click it.
- You should have all the events you want deleted highlighted.
- Press Delete.
Best wishes
John M

This and similar issues about old Calendar entries are all over "the boards", most without any solution. But I found it on Apple's Support area. Use this link and read all about it: iCloud: Advanced Calendar and iCal troubleshooting - Apple Support
The short answer is download the trial of BusyCal (if you are a Mac user). If you like it, buy it. I did.
