Apple in Ukraine

I would like to clear situation on Apple products in Ukraine. Russian version of Apple.com indicates that the only VAD in my country is ERC company. Also, there is one premium reseller according to general apple locator and no AASPs at all http://www.apple.com/ru/buy/locator/en/map.html?tySearch=1&viaProduct=2&viaSpeci al=-1&strCountry=UKR&lat=50.4501&lng=30.5234&gCountry=UA

ERC company claims that it's the only entity empowered to grant AASP status in Ukraine. At the same time, I received an answer from aasp_application_euro@apple.com saying that "Apple is not currently accepting Reseller or Service Provider applications for the region of Ukraine. Over time Apple's need may expand and we will look at expanding our programs to include this region. With that in mind I must inform you that we have to respectfully decline your offer at this time." This is already inconsistent since there is at least one reseller listed at Apple.com.

In this regard I would like to know:

- Are there any official Apple premium resellers in Ukraine?

- Are there any AASPs in Ukraine?

- Does ERC have the power to grant the status of AASP and/or premium reseller and if not, who has this right for Ukraine?

Thanks.

Per the listing from Apple, to which you linked, there is the one, iStore. They appear to have multiple locations.

I don't see any listed, but iStore may be one, and if not should know how someone would get service.

Sorry, I do not know and doubt that anyone else here does, since none of us work for Apple. But since Apple has already responded to your application and declined, I would presume that ERC does not have sole authority to grant dealer status. This is not uncommon with Apple distributors; any application for dealership would go to Apple for approval (at least that's the way it was in the past, though things may vary in different parts of the world..

Thanks, it was very helpful, in particular for me to understand that I think same way others do about this whole thing. It's a shame though that Apple has got tons of contacts for tech support and none for general issues. I tried calling the UK support (being responsible for European region) for update on afore-mentioned question and the guy was very polite and all but couldn't answer. US support is also very attentive but little I advanced -- just Apple's corporate phone...

The following must be said in relation to this discussion ...

Ukraine is a modern European country of more than 45 million people. Ukraine is an independent state with its own unique language and culture. Since breaking free from the evil Soviet Union, Ukrainian society has taken major steps to rid itself of the stagnant Soviet model which included Russified linguistic, cultural, economic, social, media, and political tendencies. Ukrainians should not have to depend on Apple in Russia or Poland, or any other neighbouring country to fully enjoy Apple products.

Apple Inc. can start by fully enabling APPLE.UA as the official site for Apple in Ukraine - oh, and please make sure the website is presented in the official language of Ukraine - UKRAINIAN !!!

Absolutely. +In light of Russians taking down Apple memorial in St.Petersburg after uknowwhat, because of state sponsored homophobia, I wish… Well never mind what I wish and I don't care if there is a Russia iStore/iTunes/etc filed under "Europe" or not. I can and am living without an official spellchecker for Ukrainian(is it sooo hard to implement ONE dictionary? Forced 2 use poorly implemented 3d party Aspell on OSX and nothing on iOS). But pretty-please-with-a-butterscotch-on-top can we FINALY get at least SOME kind of service? For gods sake: there is some service for Senegal and for the 2 million people of Macedonia, so your policy is strange to say the least.

Best Regards
