Recognizing an External Firewire VIdeo Camera

I am using an external firewire video camera, but I cannot figure out how to get the computer to stop using its built-in camera and use the external one. There were some previous postings indicating I could set a default camera in the system through iChat preferences, but I can find no such function in iChat.

How?

Many thanks,

George

Hi,

If the computer is "seeing" the Extrenal camera an extra Drop Down appears in the iChat Video Preferences to switch between Cameras.

Check the System Profiler is listing the Firewire camera in Hardware > Firewire.
