Hi Bunny2007. I don't know much about restoring and backups. I suggest you post a new question with your specific problem. Just follow this link: Using iPad and use the Search or Ask a Question box. Short question in the box, full explanation underneath. Be sure to include your device model and iOS version.
Thank you so much!! All I've been reading is for newer versions not the iPad 2, I knew it was in there somewhere!! ;-) I recently had to completely wipe my ipad 2. I was having issues with it getting locked on the Apple logo screen and the only way I could get it to work was to wipe it clean. I tried the iTunes method I tried holding this button in that button I read all the reviews about how to get it to restore without wiping it, but nothing would work.
Maybe you can help me. I must have done something wrong when I restored it as a new iPad versus restoring it with iCloud backup. So now how do I get the things that were saved on my iCloud backup back onto my iPad. Thanks again!
How do I do this on the new ios11?
Autolock only show a 2 or 5 minute options! What happened with the Never options?
If you have an employer profile (work email account) or are under an MDM, they can over-ride the defaults and disable those settings so you device screen dims in a set time and the screen locks immediately upon the screen dimming.
My wife's iPad2 will not run the newer version of iOS and the only time is really goes to black is while she is trying to read an iBook. This is very annoying and is there a setting in the older iOS to stop the going to black?
Hi aRKay. In iOS 9, it's Settings > General > Auto-Lock. You should be able to set it to Never. If Never is not an option, then you have a Profile or other feature that disables it for security reasons.
Hi. In iOS 10, Auto-Lock is in Settings > Display & Brightness. As Michael Black said, you may have a profile that overrides this.
Hi Lucasnam. If you don't have Never, you have probably installed a Profile that prevents it. Often the Profile that lets you access an employer's Exchange email server includes this. Do you have any Profiles, Settings > General > Profiles, near the bottom of the list?
Settings > Auto-Lock > Choose between 2, 5, 10 and 15 minutes or Never.
This choice is not available or I can't find it
And if you don't have a employer profile? What can I do then?
That was it! Thank you!
You're welcome. Sometimes stuff moves around in iOS, just to keep us alert. So posts about old versions aren't always reliable.
I just changed it for her from 15 minutes to never to see if this helps. She says it is going to black every two minutes or so and making iBook almost unusable. Stay tuned to see how it works out
