unresponsive on boot up

Whenever I turn on my Macbook it is unresponsive and I cannot use the keyboard or click with the trackpad. I have tried to force restart it many times to know avail as when it boots up I am left with the same issue. After about have an hour it becomes responsive again and I can log into my profile. It is a brand new Mac only a few weeks old. Has anyone else had this issue or know how to fix it?
