How to take out ventilator on Mac OS X 10.3.9

Hi, I still use the old mac os x version 10.3.9 for some of my music recordings. The ventilator is too loud.

Can I disconnect it?

Having owned an eMac, I am aware that the fan on some older computers can be very loud, and I'm guessing that is what you are referring to with 'ventilator'.

It is a piece of hardware, and whilst it can be removed, or more easily disconnected by severing the electrical wire, doing so would result in the computer overheating and eventually it will fail. This is the reason a fan was fitted initially, to keep it cool.

If you are using a microphone, then air noise will interfere with your recoding and there is not a lot you can do.
