Charger melted/destroyed iPhone!

I charge my iPhone every night and I plugged it in as normal and when I woke up I realized that my phone was only half charged but since I was in a rush for workI didn't dwell on it. So later on when I get home from work I realized that mycharger was melted on both sides, and the pins on the charger were fried, leaving a burnt black residue ... Also I looked inside my iPhone and the pinswere black and fried also . . . I tried charging my iPhone on several differentchargers/chords and none of them work.

Will Apple help me with my problem even if mywarranty is up? Are there exceptions to melting chargers that destroy theinside of your iPhone?

First off, I'm very glad that whatever caused this issue didn't get out of hand and destroy more of your property or harm you.

Secondly, the only way to know for sure is to talk to an Apple employee. Contact AppleCare by phone or make a Genius Bar appointment at your local Apple Store. If you choose to contact AppleCare by phone, make sure you have some pictures of the charger and phone's dock connector port, they may want you to email them so they can see what you are talking about.

The worst thing they can say to you is no, and it won't cost you anything to call or make a Genius Bar appointment, so why not try?

I hope this helps,
