Exporting a section of an iMovie timeline movie ?

If say my timeline contains 200 mins of movie made up of JUST clips (no titles or transitions etc) can I select say 50 mins of this timeline and export it to a DV stream file which subsequently can be imported back into iMovie as a new Project ?

Thanks for any advice.

Barry,

Yes, you can.

First, select all the clips comprising the portion of the movie want.

Now choose File>Share>QuickTime> select Full Quality DV from the drop down menu. Check the "Share selected slips only" box. Now Share.

The resulting file can be reimported to iMovie.
