Jun 2, 2012 2:03 PM in response to SpaceDocby pincrete,There are some notes at OWC (eshop.macsales.com) .... they point out that the SATA III SDDs which they sell ONLY work at SATA I speed on Macbooks up to around 2008/9.
Maybe this is true of all SDDs !
I only know this because I was looking at them earlier today

Although you'll have fast access than a normal drive, your link speed will cap you at 1.5 because of the controller of your mb and the chipset of the ssd.
Intel, Crucial and Kindston drives are much better for older MB's.
If you're noticing a speed increase, then don't worry about your link speed.
