ipad and a Smartboard

I have the ipad 2 and a SmartBoard. What do I need to do to connect it and show my educational apps? Thanks

If the smartboard has a normal data projector as most do or other standard input, you need only the appropriate adapter for the iPad. The most common input to a projector is VGA, so you'd the Apple VGA Adapter:

Note that there is no way with an iPad to capture the input from writing on the smartboard - none of the manufacturers have developed apps to do this that I know of - so you will be projecting only.

Regards.

To follow up on Dave.. you also will not be able to use the touchscreen interface of the Smartboard to control the iPad - like the writing, it requires dedicated software as well as a USB connection.

So you will be able to connect the iPad2 to your projector, and then show it on the Smartboard, but will not be able to use the Smartboard itself for anything more than a screen.

I had the same problem. I had to unplug the VGA cable from my computer and plug it into the VGA adapter connected to my iPad. The display looked great, but I hope they develop an app soon that will let me use the features on my Smartboard to interact with the iPad. It would be great to stand at the Smartboard and show the kids how to interact with the apps instead of being tethered down. I also would love it if the Smartboard pens would work with the iPad.
