Home Button on a 3GS

Hi all,

I've been an active iPhone user since April 2009. I decided over the weekend to upgrade to a 3Gs(budget allowed for this versus an iPhone 4 right now), and I received it in the mail yesterday. I'm activiating and setting it all up, and noticed that the home button is not responding--takes me 4-6 clicks to get it back to the home screen. There is no setting for this in the General area(grrrr). Is this how a 3GS phone is supposed to work, or will I need to take a trip to the Genius Bar? I've restore it once and I hope this didn't messed it up.

No that is not how it should work. Sounds like you have tried what you can try so yes I would take it to the store. Best to try to make appointment first.

That's what I thought. Wonderful...I made an appointment. Thanks for your advice. Very frustrating for something new, straight out of the box to not work.
