How do I remove listings of ibooks.

You CAN hide the purchases by going to iTunes selecting purchases sliding the section of the book and telling it hide. You CAN remove the books even without ibooks by going to the settings>usage>ibooks and press "delete application" it should prompt you about loss of books and just ignore it and press okay.

You can only remove books from your bookshelf, not from your purchase history. Whether you'd be able to get them removed by contacting Apple I don't know - but if they did remove them then you probably wouldn't be able to re-download them for free as they would no longer be in your purchase history

Actually, iBooks works like apps, you can redownload if you delete them.

Deleting them in iTunes is much like anything else, click on it and delete

That doesn't remove your purchase history from within the iBooks app though.

but instead of removing books from your iPad or in iTunes you can do something better:

- On the iPad side you can organize your books in "Collections". So you will not have endless lists but neatly organized compartments of your book library.

- In iTunes you can choose not to sync all the books you bought, but only the ones you want to store on your iPad.

Do you mean Purchases at the bottom of the Store in iBooks? Not sure if this is what the OP os asking about.

Why would I want to keep all that stuff.

Some people like to keep items they have purchased.

To delete them from iTunes/your computer, select Books at the top left of your iTunes window.

Select the book then press Delete (or right click - Delete).

have you tried going to purchases in iTunes and deleting the books from there?

i know that you can delete books purchased and then delete them from your ipad,

also you will have to open the itunes folder on your computer (default or whatever you may have named it) and delete the purchase from there as iTunes automatically stores it there also.

Correct. You CANNOT remove them from your purchased list. This is your record of purchase. Same as a credit card transaction shows up on your credit card bill.

It stays there so you can download again if you wish. Some people like to reread books.
