if you have read & write permissions for your music folder, click on the little gear-shaped icon and apply to enclosed items like so
the important part is to apply to enclosed items !
additionally, see this support article.
Find the iTunes folder in the Music folder in your user folder. Select the folder, Get Info on it (Command-I or under the File menu) and if necessary click the disclosure triangle next to "Sharing and Permissions" to show the permissions. What does it say next to your user name, which should be marked as "Me"?
Regards.
P.S. Repairing permissions via Disk Utility does nothing for any user folder, though running it couldn't hurt.
This could be one of the few accounts where Repairing-Disk-Permissions® is called for. Please see here for details: About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature
