how to edit (imported) MIDI volume?

So I wrote a piece in Sibelius (which is a music notation software), exported the MIDI file, and imported to Logic.

I set all the software instruments up correctly, but everytime I attempt to edit the volume of each individual track, either in the mixer window, or with use of automation, the volume will automatically jump back to the original volume (Which is WAY too loud in my mix.)

All of the imported MIDI files do this, do you know of a way to fix this problem?

Thanks

You probably have MIDI CC 7 (Volume) in your MIDI file at the start of each track/region, this will conflict with/overrule track automation.

The simplest way to approach it is to simply delete the MIDI CC 7 events using the Event List and then start automating.
