I am able to browse internet but when i tap on itunes, i get the error "Cannot connect to iTunes Store"

You need to make sure you have the most current version of iTunes on your computer so check that first. Also, make sure you are trying to sync using the cable that came with the iPad and not another iDevice you might own, if you own another device.
Do you have an iTunes account already setup and iTunes on a computer? If not, you need to create and iTunes account.
I downloaded itunes last night from internet and I am using the cable provided with ipad. I can connect my ipad to itunes on my laptop but when i try to connect it to itunes store on my ipad.. I get that error... I have already created the itunes account as well...
I called Apple and they cannot believe it. They made me update to iOS 4.3.3 and to the latest version of iTunes. I bought my iPad and my girlfriend's yesterday and so far we have not been able to connect to the App Store or iTunes. We both get a message that says "Cannot connect to iTunes store." Everything else works including connecting to the Internet using Safari. We can also download Apps to our computer from iTunes and then sync to iPad.
iPhone works fine on same computer and network.
If anyone has a fix let me know.
I am getting the same thing. It just started doing this last week. I have had an account since January. Now I can't get there through app store or iTunes app. If anyone has a suggestion, please help!
I have the same situation. Everything else works. I updated iTunes yesterday and checked for updates on my iPad today. It says my iPad is updated. I still cannot connect to iTunes store.
Hi. I had the same thing. The trick is log out your acc on iTunes and log-in the appstore ;)
There is restriction on what items you can purchase in you country if you see this screen.

I'm not sure what I did but I opened my iTunes app ad it was gray and had the "cannon connect to iTunes" message. I started tapping the icons at the bottom of the screen and iTunes came up. It has been working fine since. I purchased an app and it downloaded just fine.
I guess I fixed my problem myself. I'm just not sure what I did. :)
I have an ipad 2 in the US. Signing out and signing back in did NOT work for me. I reset my Apple ID twice, which also did not fix the problem.
Same here! Nothing solved the problem, but the problem only happened for ipad2?!
