Export imovie from ipad to mac?

Hey all,

I'm not sure how to get an iMovie edited on an iPad in iMovie into iMovie on my mac. I can move the file through iTunes onto the mac, but I am unable to open it in iMovie once it has been moved. I used the export to iTunes feature on the iPad to send it to iTunes and then to my mac.

Has anyone else had this issue or has anyone else been able to solve it? I would like to continue editing the movie I recorded on my iMac in iMovie, but I cannot open it in iMovie on my mac.

Any help here would be appreciated!

Thanks Dahveed,

I will certainly try that... However, this exports the movies in completed .mov format. I was hoping to export them to iMovie project format so that I can edit the clips more completely in iMovie on the mac. I'm not sure if there is any method of doing this, but I figured it was worth a shot...

If anyone knows of a solution to export iMovie files from the iPad into iMovie project format for the mac, that would be awesome... if not, I will use the export method above and do most of my editing in iMovie on the mac instead.

I too would love to be able to do this. I have a rough cut that I made on the iPad in iMovie (shot on a GoPro) and I really want to be able to continue editing this on the Mac in either iMovie of FCPX. Seems like a no brainer workflow

i am not sure about formats, but you can export directly (sync itunes) from the ipad to iphoto then I used iphoto to export the MOV file to a the movie file (where imovie is looking) then opend the movie with imovie - But the movie come in distorted - any advice here?

I was trying to export photos from my macbook to my ipad and bought pic share it - which did not work well for me then I figured it was a lot easier using an FTP client - gotta have a server to save to, but works great I use Fetch on the macbook and FTP client pro on the ipad,
